What is VitaPLAS®®?

VitaPLAS® PVC plastisols are suspensions of polyvinylchloride resins in plasticisers, which are modified with other materials to create a range of plastisols with a wide variety of benefits and properties.

Although based only on one polymer type, the base PVC resin is available with variations both to the polymer backbone and utilising specific additives that in combination, give rise to:

  • Variable Molecular weight – Affecting strength and suspension viscosity
  • Co-polymer or grafted variants – Allow a balance of higher strength with lower suspension viscosity
  • Rheology modifier additive – Creates desired flow characteristics for specific processing conditions
  • Adhesion additives – Allow greater affinity for specific substrates (i.e. metal/fabric/polymer coatings)

In addition to the variety of base resins available, there are also a significant number of additives that can be used to fine-tune the PVC properties (plasticiser type/fusing additives/flame retardants etc.) All of the above allow VLP to provide a PVC plastisol with the unique performance required for the customer.
